Chu Dong Tu Festival


The Chu Dong Tu Festival is celebrated to in the fishing village of the country in Da Trach. The event is marked through a folk festival that honors the 16th century fisherman. Villagers gather to visit the temples to offer payer services. Incense sticks and candles are burnt. However, the dates of the festival fall according to the lunar calendar. It is advisable to confirm the dates before finalizing any sorts of travel arrangement.

Thay Pagoda Festival


The Thay Pagoda festival is a popular festival in Vietnam. Held in the Thien Phuc Pagoda in Thuy Khe village, the festival is famous for hosting the traditional performance of water puppetry (mua roi can). The event also includes story telling of Vietnamese folklore, which includes firework spouting from the mouths of Dragon and re-enactment of historic battles. On the third and fourth day, the people coming together to celebrate at the event participate in a parade. They march through the villages returning back to the pagoda after sunset.

Lang Ca Ong


A renowned Vietnamese festival, Lang Ca Ong is held in many fishing villages situated in the country. The month long festival can almost be related with the thanksgiving festival. On the day, fishermen and their families offer their thanks to whales for their support. The festival is marked with events, a colorful parade and prayers.

Buddha's Birthday


Buddha’s Birthday is marked with great religious fervor throughout the country. The eighth day of the fourth lunar month observes and honors the birth and enlightenment of Lord Buddha. The country of Vietnam celebrates the birthday of the lord a week later to the actual day. This day tends to fall between May and June full moon. It is advisable that you cross check with the tourist dates before you plan a visit to the festival.

Ba Chua Xu Temple Festival


The BaChua Xu Temple Festival is also known by the name of Via Ba ceremony. The festival that is held on the Sam mountain just outside the Chau Doc is a famous Vietnam event. Considered the biggest folk festival of South Vietnam, the festival continues from 23rd to 27th days of the fourth lunar month. The statue of Ba Chua Xu is bathed with perfumed water on the first day of the festival. The old clothes that are believed to bear a lucky charm is torn into small pieces and distributed among the pilgrims. The midnight of the third night witnesses the significant Tuc Yen ritual that is observed through a fascinating procession of dragon dances. The Duc Boi ceremony is observed with one man being selected to perform the rituals and celebrations. This man from the village sings for good weather throughout the country along with a prosperous year ahead.

International Circus Festival


The International Circus Festival is one of the top events in Vietnam that features the fascinating blend of entertainment and excitement. From Jugglers, trapeze acts, clowns to trained animals, the circus will offer all kinds of entertainment. The 6-day festival welcomes troupes coming from Hanoi Vung Tau, Quang Tri and the Vietnam Secondary School of Circus Arts to the national theater of circus.

Do Son Buffalo Fights

Tet Trung Thu

A grand feast, lion dances and art exhibition along with other forms of entertainment marks the celebration of this day-long affair.
