Portugal Current Events

Portugal is the land of colors, flavor and music. Several festivals are celebrated in and around the country, which brings a festive mood among the residents of Portugal. Few of the Portugal Current Events are listed below:

Fatima Pilgrimage The festival of Fatima Pilgrimage based on a Christian myth is observed in the month of November. According to the myth, Virgin Mary appeared in the Fatima turf before three child shepherds in May and asked them to come in the month of October. On this day, millions of believers gather in Our Lady of the Rosary Sanctuary of Fatima. The event starts from the Easter and ends in mid-November. It consists of:

Night Vigil
International Rosary
Candlelight procession
Eucharistic processions
Stations of the Cross
Multi-lingual masses

Arcade Fire
This year, Arcade Fire event will consist of a band performance by the performer couple Win Butler and Raogine Chassagne. Accompanied with instruments and melodious music, the performance will take place in Pavilhão Atlântico of Lisbon.

National Horse Fair
National Horse Fair is where the races take place and roughriders participate. The fair includes plenty of events, like:

Along with the event, National Horse Show is organized in the honor of Saint Martin. Various mouth-watering local dishes are served in this show.
