Cities in Monaco |
The world's smallest French-speaking country and also most densely populated nation, Monaco is home to some of the foremost names in the fashion world. This is the ultimate destination for a religious shopper who swears by the names of world-class brand, as every alley of the important Cities in Monaco are teemed with their showrooms. The Principality of Monaco is subdivided into 3 municipalities:
Monaco (Monaco-Ville)
Monte Carlo
La Condamine
These municipalities are again subdivided into wards like:
Fontvieille
Moneghetti
Larvotto
La Rousse/Saint Roman
Saint Michel
Les Révoires
Le Portier
The aforesaid wards in turn, comprise the major Cities in Monaco:
- Monte-Carlo
- La Condamine
- Fontvieille
- Monaco
- Moneghetti
Fontvieille:
Shielded away from the sea by a 98ft-deep dam, is the newly laid-out Port de Fontvieille. The Stade Louis II behind the harbor is the main landmark of this place and a major tourist draw as well. This goes a long way in making Fontvieille one of the most Important Towns of Monaco
Peille:
This is indeed one of the most beautiful Monaco Cities perched atop a huge rock above the River Peillon. You can find here splendid footmarks of bygone years amidst the 12th century Romanesque church and Ruins of a 13th Century castle.
Monte-Carlo:
The district of Monte-Carlo, which houses one of the most 'fashionable' Metropolises of Monaco (and of course of the world too), epitomizes 'luxurious living' per se. Take a stroll down its Boulevard Princesse Charlotte, Boulevard des Moulins or the Avenue de la Costa and you will get an idea what 'high-end fashion' is all about.
While on a Monaco Vacation, it does not make sense, if you do not visit two of its most beautiful locales near Monte Carlo. They are:
- Larvotto:
In the southwest of the district of Larvotto stands the Center Culturel et des Expositions. Here you will come across the "Musée National des Automates et Poupées d'Autrefois - a museum of mechanical toys and dolls, housed in a villa of the Belle Epoque in the avenue Princess Grace.
- Les Spélugues:
The Congress Center, called Les Spélugues, is the greatest landmark of this region.
