  • New Year's Junkanoo Parade
    A popular New Year event in Bahamas, the Junkanoo Parade is held throughout the island. The parade festival generally marks the welcoming of the New Year with music and dance. The traditional Junkanno dance and music turns this event to a colorful celebration. The parade held at Nassau, considered as the biggest and best is most popular in the island. The parade generally starts at 2 am and continues till 8 am.

  • Guy Fawkes Day
    A popular annual festivity in the Bahamas, celebration of Guy Fawkes Day is usually held in November 5. However, the date of the celebration day might change in some years; it is always advisable to check with the island tourist office. On this day the people of the Bahamas Island gather to hang and burn the effigy of the British malefactor, Guy Fawkes, who was involved in the gunpowder plot of 1605. Nighttime parades are held throughout the streets in most of the islands with the island of Nassau attracting maximum crowd.

    This year round Bahamian festival is an equally popular event with both the tourists and the locals. The event is generally held every Saturday and sometimes on Sundays in the downtown region of Nassau. The event is usually celebrated to promote and highlight the hand-made products of the Bahamian artisan and craftsmen.   • Bahamas International Film Festival
    The film festival of the Bahamas is an internationally acclaimed cultural event in Bahamas. This event holds an appeal for Hollywood celebrities like, Sean Connery and Nicolas Cage along with upcoming and acclaimed directors. The event screens a range of films of famous directors along with other events like, panel discussions.

    This isn't your typical island "off-season" event: BIFF is a world-renowned film festival that attracts Hollywood celebs like Nicolas Cage and Sean Connery as well as up-and-coming directors anxious to showcase their films. Runs Dec. 6-13 and includes screenings, panel discussions, and gala events.

  • Conchman and Ironkids Triathlon
    This sports event in Bahamas is a quite popular event with the entire sports lover community. The event witnesses the coming together of all sports enthusiasts in Lucaya for 20 mile (25k) bike ride, 0.5 mile (1k) swim, and 3.5 mile (5k) run. You can register for the event at UNEXSO on November 4th & 5th during 5:30 - 7:00 p.m.
