Hollywood Attractions- Hollywood Walk of Fame

Hollywood Attractions- Hollywood Walk of Fame, as a connoisseur of cinema and art, serves as an entertainment museum showcasing more than 2000, 5 pointed stars that are in the names of real life as well as fictional characters of the entertainment industry. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce paid a tribute to these characters for their contribution to the entertainment industry.

Hollywood Historic Trust is the self-funded organization that is involved in maintaining and taking charge of the Walk of Fame. The initial eight stars were placed in the year 1958 in the northwest direction of the sidewalk

The Stars

The Walk of Fame has a total area expanse of three and a half mile. The stars remain permanently located in the sidewalk, except for certain constructional works. At the time of construction, the stars are relocated temporarily somewhere else nearby.

The stars are artistically made and reflect the skill and thought that has gone in to create them. Each of the stars has a pink terrazzo star engraved within with bronze. This again in turn is laid down in the charcoal square.

Inside these pink stars the names of the artists, performers or the honoree are decorated in bronze. Beneath this is yet another round emblem in bronze that denotes the category for which the entity is honored. The emblems mostly cover the following categories:-

  • Motion Picture Camera Emblem – to denote contribution made in the film industry.
  • Television Set Emblem– to denote the contribution made in the broadcast television industry.
  • Photography Record Emblem – to denote the contribution made in the recording industry.
  • Radio Microphone Emblem – to denote the contribution in the radio and broadcast industry.
  • Twin Mask, Comedy/ Tragedy Emblem- to denote the contribution made in the field of live theatre
