Owned by the State of Alaska, USA, the Pitka Airport is the shortened name of Edward G. Pitka Sr. Airport. The airport is situated in the city of Galena, which lies in the Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area of Alaska.

Pitka Airport, Alaska was the first in Galena, which is the largest city in Alaska. Pitka Airport has been coded as PAGA by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), while the International Air Transport Association (IATA) has assigned the code of GAL to it.

    Situated on the northern bank of Yukon River, the city of Galena lies 45 miles east of Nulato and 270 air-miles to the west of Fairbanks. The place is abundant in salmon, moose, whitefish, and berries.
