Franklin Airport, aka Franklin Field Airport, California, USA is the major gateway to the city of Franklin in California's Sacramento county. Located four miles (6 km) southeast of the central business district (CBD) of Franklin, this is a public use airport owned and operated by the County of Sacramento. Though it is mostly used for general aviation today, it was used for bomber training by the federal government during World War II, before it was acquired by the County of Sacramento in 1947under the Surplus Property Act of 1944.

There is no air traffic control tower or personnel at Franklin Airport alias Franklin Field (California)and hence, it is considered an uncontrolled airport. Sprawling over 496 acres of land, Franklin Field Airport, Sacramento, CA, has two operational runways (asphalt make):

  • Runway 18/36: 3,240 x 60 ft. (988 x 18 m)
  • Runway 9/27: 3,100 x 60 ft. (945 x 18 m)
