The St. Patrick’s Day Parade held in the city of Manhattan is the most stunning and spectacular among all of the parades organized throughout the U.S.A. The procession, as it might be termed as is considered the most significant event in New York. The 5th Avenue in the city hosts the largest city street parade in memories of St. Patrick’s on the day itself. The event holds an appeal and is attended by around thousands of Americans of Irish descent, as they march in the honoring event of celebrating their faith and heritage. Visitors at the event can choose to sit on the upper steps of Metropolitan Museum of Art, if possible to catch a better view of the march. The east of the 86th street also offers a good view of the parade. The parade starts at 11 am led by the “Fighting 69” – a division of Irish infantry that dates back to the American war of Independence. The Grand Marshall of the parade follows the procession.
