The Irish Week Festival is considered one of the most popular annual Seattle events. The event that celebrates the culture of Ireland is a culmination of film festival, the St. Patrick’s Day bash, and the parade on 4th avenue. The major festivities and events are held in the Seattle Center with the city being a host to various other events at different venues. The main aim of the event is to bring together the extensive diverse Irish communities of the city. Musical concerts, dance performances, and feasts form the entire event. The event also holds special appeal for the kids, as various kids’ friendly activities are held that includes children's workshops, storytelling and Celtic handicrafts. The major highlight of the event is the Irish soda bread contest that is held at the T S McHugh's (1st & Mercer Street).
