Suvarnabhumi International Airport is also called the (New Bangkok International Airport). The airport became operational on 15th September 2006 and commercial flights started operating from the airport on 28th September. The airport is located near Racha Thewa in the district of Bang Phli at a distance of 25 km from proper Bangkok. The airport is designed by Helmut Jahn and has the tallest control tower of the World which is 132.2 meters. The total area of the airport terminal is 563,000 mē and it is one of the busiest airport in Asia. The airport has helped a lot in the economic development of the country as it is well connected with the business districts of the country by roads.
