About Guggenheim Museum

This exhibition of single masterpieces by the renowned artistes of time has let it present a series of influential works in the sector of both modern and contemporary.  The chief acquirement includes Joseph Beuys’s Lightning with Stag in Its Glare (1958–85), Jeff Koons’s Puppy (1992), and Robert Rauschenberg’s Barge (1962–63). Apart from these renowned and significant master pieces in art, it also holds an exhibition of modern and contemporary artists from Spain and Basque country including Cristina Iglesias, Eduardo Chillida, Antonio Saura, Antoni Tàpies, Jorge Oteiza, and Juan Muñoz.

Reaching Guggenheim Museum


You can reach the Guggeinheim through various transports. It is well – connected by road, rail, and air network.


By Metro – You can reach this place of attraction by taking a Metro to Moyua station or availing for a streetcar to Guggenheim stop.


By plane – You cab reach the city via flight services. The Bilbao International Airport (LOIU) is located at a distance of 15 kilometer from the city center. There is an availability of bus services to the city center to and from the airport.


By train – There are a range of train services that will take you to the city featuring stops at different landmarks. Here is a list of the following train services and the name of the station 


  • RENFE, Bilbao-Abando station
  • ET/FV, Atxuri station
  • FEVE, Santander station

 

By bus - There are also a range of buses that operates within the city featuring a stop at the museum. Here is a list of the bus routes-


  • Routes 1, 10, 13 and 18 stop at Plaza del Museo de Bellas Artes.
  • Routes 13, 27, 38 and 48 stop at Alameda de Rekalde.
  • Routes 11 and 71 stop at Plaza de La Salve (take elevator to La Salve bridge)

 

Hours Of operation

Tuesday to Sunday - 10am to 8pm
The museum remains open on Mondays during the months of June, July, and August
The closing dates are December 25 and January 1.
It closes its doors for the visitors on the days of December 24 and 31 at 5 pm.
