Pier 39

Pier 39 is a shopping center and a popular tourist location as well! Whether one is looking to have some fun with the family, go shopping with friends, have a mouth watering dinner experience or watch the street performers – they can do all this and much more at Pier 39. There are more than 100 specialty shopping outlets, more than 10 restaurants serving delicious seafood and local cuisine, and you can also get to see stunning views of San Francisco’s Waterfront. Pier 39 has located over an area of 45 acres, where visitors have access to convenient parking spaces.

The centre is patrolled 24 hours to ensure public safety, while they are visiting the pier. If you happen to lose anything, while at the pier you can approach the Lost and Found department, which is located security booth right next to the Entrance Plaza. Luggage storage facility is also available for visitors. Luggage can be stored at the California Welcome Center situated at Level 2 between 10 am to 6 pm, at $5 per bag. At the common area of the property, leashed pets are allowed.

Pier 39 Directions


If you are going to pier 39 from South Bay, you will have to take Highway 10 North to Highway 80 East, exit at 4th Street; stay left on Bryant Street, turn left to Embarcadero (in right lane) and then reach Pier 39 after 2 ½ miles.
Pier 39 1 From the North Bay, you will have to take Highway 101 South across the Golden Gate Bridge, pass through Toll Plaza and keep to the left, follow Lombard Street exit and go to Van Ness Avenue and then to Bay Street, which is about three blocks away. Stay on the road and take left towards Embarcadero and you will come to the right side of Pier 39. Public transport system can also be used to go to Pier 39.
