The Ferry Building
The Ferry Building is a ferry station, for the ferries that travel across San Francisco Bay and The Embarcadero in San Francisco, California. The building was constructed in 1896 and again restored in 2003 to make it into market hall, which sells the best food of bay Area. The Ferry Building Marketplace in San Francisco consists of a number of specialty food shops. The things, which one can find here ranges from fresh local fish to artisan cheese, besides a host of other things. There are also a number of cafes, restaurants located in the building.At the top of the building there is a large clock tower, it has been modeled after the 12th century Giralda bell tower in Seville, Spain. On every full and half-hour during daylight, the clock bell can be heard ringing portions from the Westminster Quarters. Tourists can take walking tours of the ferry building, while they are visiting the city. Tour operators organize tours; they start at noon and correspond with the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market.

If you want to witness the hustle and bustle of a marketplace, you must head over to San Francisco Ferry Building Marketplace. You can go to one of the numerous coffee houses and grab latte (or any other favorite) and take in the lovely views of the market as people go about shopping and browsing. For those who would like to indulge their taste buds with something different, there is a Vietnamese eatery. If you are lucky you might run into a celebrity chef on an early Saturday morning.
However, if you are not an early riser, you can go there before noon and begin your day by eating an awesome brunch. Buy some specially baked dessert after eating brunch and take them back for a loved one. Take a walking tour of the market, buy something interesting that catches your eye or simply browse the shops.
Ferry Building Location
The ferry Building marketplace is located alongside Embarcadero, towards the end of Market Street. Various public modes of communication operating in the city, will take you to the Ferry Building. It is accessible by Muni buses, Bart Trains and ferry boats. Trolley cars stop right in front of the Ferry building. The market is open everyday and it is generally crowded on Thursdays and Tuesdays from 10 am to 2pm and on Saturdays 8 am to 2 pm.
