Once you reach the first platform, you’ll find stairs continuing upwards from the east tower. The actual count of stairs to be traversed to reach the ticket booth at the base is 9 steps, 328 steps to reach the 1st level, 340 steps to the 2nd, and 18 more steps to reach the lift platform on this level. After coming out of the lift at the 3rd level, visitors are required to ascend 15 more steps to reach the upper observation platform. The step count is printed at regular intervals on the side of the stairs, so that guests can get an indication of progress.

A significant part of the maintenance of Eifel Tower, Paris includes application of about 50 to 60 tons of paint once in every 7 years, so that the structure remains protected from rust.

The Eiffel Tower is entirely lit up every night to emit a gold-yellow color. A sparkling show is put on at every hour that the Eiffel Tower is lit up, which continues from the hour to five minutes after the hour.

A posh restaurant - the Jules Verne is located on the second platform of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France. The top platform houses a bar, souvenir shop, and a recently restored office of Gustave Eiffel.
