About Euroka Creole House



Euroka Creole House is an exclusive Creole house. The house was constructed in 1830. Euroka Creole House is located inside a spectacular garden and it is bordered by the Moka Range and Moka River waterfalls. The house is known as one of the biggest houses in the country.

Euroka Creole House features 109 doors and windows. The house was renovated and opened for public viewership in 1986. The house also went through a number of renovations and it was introduced as a museum in the same year. There are various sections in the museum that focus on art, music, prehistoric maps, Indian and Chinese domestic utensils, and unconventional equipments similar to a colonial period shower.   

Located on Moka Island, in the clean and verdant environment of Central Mauritius, Eureka Creole House was constructed at the time of the French rule. It was the property of a renowned family of Mauritius. The principal portion of the property has been converted into a museum.
