There is no particular official standard for written Creole. As the language is primarily French based, for informal written communication, several words are differently spelt compared to normal French.

Other than the abovementioned languages used in Mauritius, there are few more which are spoken by the minorities. Such languages include Mandarin, Bhojpuri, Hakka, Urdu, Hindi and Tamils. About 10% of Mauritian population constitutes of Tamilians and hence, Tamil is quite a popular language in the given region.
