The new look of Tunku Abdul Rahman aquarium fetched several visitors to the Zoo Negara in Malaysia. The Tunku Abdul Rahman Aquarium adopted the theme of wetland conservation once it reopened to the public. Environmental education, aquatic animal conservations and protection of rare species was its main purpose. The aquarium being more a Malaysian in style and look adopted the self attained title of “The Malaysian River Journey” that hopes to educate its visitors on wetland conservations.

Rocky Shore and Coral Reef Zone: The aquarium passes through several zones such as the rocky shore and coral reef zone starting with the upper streams, then the mid river sand then the freshwater wetlands. Downwards it goes along peat swamps and mangroves reaching the rocky shore and coral.

Aquatic flora and fauna: The freshwater Tunku Abdul Rahman Aquarium is a host to several groups of fishes and plants. They largely include the Bettas, Barbs, Catfishes and Snakeheads. Among the popular plants found in large numbers is the Crptocoryne. Malaysian attraction- Tunku Abdul Rahman Aquarium is a children’s delight with 80 species of flora and fauna that even consists of few unusual and rare species of Malaysian Bony tongue, Malaysian riverine carps and coral reef fishes.
