Malaysia Attractions - Sultan Ibrahim Building was built between 1936 and 1939, formally opened by the late monarch Sultan Ibrahim. Back in 1972, when the Japanese troops occupied Malaysia, the building became a fortress for Malays. It was also used as a command center so that British activities in Singapore could be traced. The building got partially damaged during Japanese invasion. As you explore the building you can spot areas that got smashed.
The building is an abode of Chief Minister’s office and harbors the State Assembly Hall. As you enter the building there is a huge doorway leading to this which is kept close always. In case, you wish to visit you need to seek permission. As you enter, you will find a spacious green garden in front of the building.

Architecture
Sultan Ibrahim Building was designed and created by a British architecture organization named Palmer and Turner. The company was also entrusted with the responsibility of designing Johor Bahru General Hospital, which is now more prominently known as Hospital Sultanah Aminah.
The design and pattern is more in the format of London castle and towers. You can trace English influences in the lampstands and doorways. There are also some Moorish architectural influences in the interiors.

Malaysia Attractions - Sultan Ibrahim Building was considered as the tallest building in Malaysia. It stood strong in Johor Bahru as the town’s tallest building till such time Merlin Tower was completed in 1972.

From Malaysia airport you can take a taxi to Johor Bahru. From there you can to continue to the building. Alternatively, you can also choose to walk down to Sultan Ibrahim Building whilst exploring adjacent areas of Johor Bahru. You can keep going along the lines of Jalan Duke, either by foot or car and can trace the building located atop a hill.
