Historical Things to See in Los Angeles


  • Olvera Street: Olvera Street is the historic axis of the cit as Los Angeles gets its name from a mission that started from here. the name of the mission was (Misión de la Nuestra Señora la Reina de Los Angeles meaning Mission of our Lady the Queen of the Angels. The oldest building of the city is sited here and is open for the tourists. also there is a good number of exotic Mexican bistros and a host of good shops. From Union Station, the place is an easy reach.
  • Union Station: if you have a mind to visit the Olvera Street, don’t forget to quick visit the Union Station. The exact address is 800 N. Alameda Street, Los Angeles, CA, 90012. it’s a momentous downtown place and the prime railway station of the city.

  • Paul Getty Museum:
    Address: 1200 Getty Center Drive
    Admission Fee: Free (though you need to pay $15 if you bring your car)
    Paul Getty Museum is popularly known as The Getty Center. The place can be reached via Metro Bus 761 as well. Beautifully positioned at the Santa Monica Mountains top, the place will let you see the LA Basin, the profound Pacific Ocean, the Rose Garden and the beautiful buildings downhill. Inside there is a rare collection of arts collection which is pretty interesting. Don’t forget to visit the old museum which is known as J. Paul Getty Villa.
  • Museum of Contemporary Art
    Address: 250 S. Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, CA, 90012
    Admission Fee: General Admission Fee: $10, Students/Seniors Fee: $5, Admission of Children under 12 is free.
    Open Monday through Friday 11 am to 5 pm (except on Thursdays open from 11 am to 8 pm and from 5 to 8, its free for all). On weekend, the museum is open from 11 am to 6 pm. The museum has two branches downtown and another one at Melrose Avenue. Changing exhibitions throughout the year attract a lot of visitors.
  • Los Angeles County Museum of Art
    Address: 5905 Wilshire Blvd
    Open on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 12pmn to 8 pm, on Friday from 12 to 9 pm and on weekend, 11 am to 8 pm. The museum is closed only on Wednesday.
    Admission Fees: General Admission Fee- $12, Seniors & College Students Fee- $8, Under 18 Admission is Free
    Los Angeles County Museum of Art or LACMA is dedicated to all types of art work from all around the globe. More than 100,000 artworks are for exhibit here. The stretched out portion of the LA museum houses contemporary European, Latin American and American artworks.
     
  • The Museum of tolerance

    Open Monday to Friday from 10 am to 3 pm. On Sundays, the museum is open from 11 am to 5 pm. The museum remains closed on Saturdays.
    Admission Fee: Adults Admission Fee $13, Seniors Admission Fee (62+) $11, Student with I.D. and Youth Admission Fee (aging 5-18) $10.
    The museum is unique in exhibiting different ways of bringing light to human life that motivates them as teaches to become more tolerant.

    Things to See in Los Angeles (Parks)


    Griffith Park:
    It was formerly an ostrich farm. Now it’s the second largest city park in the country. For hiking and other activities, the place is the best-suit. You can go up to Mulholland Drive to get a spectacular view of the city down there. The LA Zoo is also here and if you are with your kids, this place is ideal for them. The Autry Western Museum, a vast golf land, driving course all have been attracting visitors for decades.

    Exposition Park
    Exposition Park is yet another park of os Angeles. It lies to the west of Figueroa Street and King Boulevard lies to the north of the famous LA Park. It was previously an agricultural park. In 1910 it was renamed as Exposition Park.

    Mulholland Drive
    Mulholland Drive is a renowned avenue worth taking a drive along. Take the Highland Avenue and get into the Cahuenga Pass to reach this beautiful place.
