    The Festival of Philippine Arts and Culture celebrates the rich cultural history of the city. This particular festival was first introduced in the year 1990 in an attempt to address the multicultural aspect of the city. The program was first designed as a Cultural Affairs Department’s Festivals Program of Los Angles. This particular event is held annually. The first FPAC was organized by around 100 artists and community leaders on May 14, 1992. The event was held on Mother’s Day at the Los Angeles City College and around 3,000 participants braved the L.A riots outcome to be a part of the festival. The festival since its inception in the year 1990 vouch to come back bigger and larger in form in each year of its celebration.

    The festival since the year 2001 is being organized in Pt. Fermin Park, in the historic district of San Pedro. FPAC now boasts of being the largest host of Philippine arts and culture in Southern California. Featuring around 1200 artists in 9 different sectors, the festival draws around 25,000 visitors from all across the globe. FPAC is organized in group effort of 50 volunteer professionals with 50 community based and civic organizations.   • City of Los Angeles El Grito Celebration
