Bordeaux Tours

The quaint city of Bordeaux in Western France earns much of its claim to fame as a wine producing city. Lately the city is attracting tourists worldwide for its Gothic cathedrals and 18th century castles and mansions. The city is also way ahead in scientific inventions and houses prominent institutions like Aeronautics Research Center. The 18th century architecture, a countryside ambience, sprawling vineyards and the amiable people all culminate to give Bordeaux an identity of its own. Though there are many places to see in Bordeaux, Bordeaux Tours are never complete without a tour through the different vineyards.
Bordeaux Tours
You will be amazed at the ranges of wine produced- from red to white, dry to sweet. Some of the vineyards are centuries old. The older the better! The historical monuments and mansions are an integral part of the Bordeaux Tours. You might as well start from the 'Porte de Bourgogne' which in the 18th century was considered as the gateway of the city. 'Quartier de la Rousselle' comes next followed by 'Quarter Saint-Michel'. The stone bridge of 'Pont de Pierre' was constructed under the Nepolean regime. Cathedral of Saint Andre and The Town hall are other interesting monuments that you cannot miss.

There is a type of Bordeax wine for all meal types. For an elaborate dinner you have one variety of wine while for lunch there is another. What’s more you can also have a variety of wine with fast foods. Just imagine a wine being made just to suit to have with your pizza and buggers! But all said and done French cheese and Bordeaux wine goes well together.

Bordeaux Tours is never complete without a shopping spree. The main shopping hub here is Rue Sainte-Catherine- a 1.2 kilometer stretch. The place abounds in open air cafes and restaurants as well. Starting from Place de la Victoire these shops sell a wide variety of items starting from French designer wear to antiques. Place de la Comedie towards the end of this stretch has a wide array of upscale and fashionable shops for the up market client. Travel and Tourism in Bordeaux constitute a major portion of the cities revenue.
