The Route for Torch Relay For 2008 Paralympics has been planned and validated by IOC. The Olympic Flame will be lit in Olympia Greece on March 25, 2008. From March 25 - 30, the Torch Relay For 2008 Paralympics will travel across Greece, ending at the Panathinaiko Stadium, the site where the first modern Olympic Games happened in 1896. The 2008 Paralympics Torch Relay will thereafter go on a route planned by the IPC.
The Torch Relay For 2008 Paralympics is going to be a grand event lighting the fire of sportsmanship worldwide among the athletes with disabilities.

The Planned Route for 2008 Beijing Paralympics torch relay shall cover Europe, Asia, North America, Australia, Africa and South America touching all the five continents.
Torch Relay In 2008 Paralympics route was announced at one-year countdown at the China Millennium Monument in Beijing. Over 5,000 people from Beijing and all over the world jointly celebrated the one-year countdown to the 2008 Beijing Paralympics.
At the ceremony, Mr. Jia Qinglin, announced the planned torch relay route for the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games. He is the member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
Jia said in his speech at the ceremony that "Through the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games, we will further show the spirit of persons with a disability that is inherent in their self-renewal and independence and promote the development of Paralympic sports".
The torchbearers for the Torch Relay For 2008 Paralympics shall be selected by the BOCOG. The selection program will begin on 23rd June 2007 and be finalized by 30th December 2007. the total escort runners would be 5000.
