Table Tennis is an indoor game at the Paralympic Games. Paralympics is meant for the people whose any of the body parts has been amputated or have been suffering from impairments like cerebral palsy, blindness/visual impairment, and spinal injuries. Paralympics is a platform where the physically challenged sportsmen can display their sporting skill and bring laurel to their respective nations. Table Tennis as a sport was developed in the later half of the 19th century and its origin is said to be in Britain.

It was in January 1926 that Austria, England, Germany, Hungary, and Sweden; these five nations formed the International Table Tennis Federation. In the same year World Championships for this particular sport were started. Table Tennis sport in Paralympics is enjoyed by many spectators and is also one of the important events in 2008 Beijing Summer Paralympics Sports. As a full medal sport, table tennis made its Olympic debut during the Seoul Olympic Games.
In 2008 Beijing Summer Paralympics Sports this event is going to have special significance since China is dominant country in this sport and shall have the major support of the crowd. As far as the rules for table tennis go, an individual or a pair is said to have won the game if they succeed in scoring 11 points first. Players are entitled to receive advice only during the intervals between games or during any authorized postponement of play. The players cannot seek advice between the end of practice and the beginning of a match. Even if an authorized person offers advice at other times, the umpire shall show a yellow card serving as a warning and a second time repetition of the same would result in his dismissal from the playing court.
Rules for misbehavior and good presentation also apply and the players are strictly said to abide by them.

- a court separated into two equal halves
- net that divides the different playing zones equally

- a racket consisting 85% of wood
