Shooting

Shooting has got an interesting origin as earlier it was primarily a hunting game for food. It was actually a means of survival in those days. It was in the 19th century that it evolved into a leisure sport as the industrial revolution supplemented the means for acquiring food. It was well-liked in the English speaking countries especially in Britain and USA and in Ireland and South Africa as well. In the year 1871 National Rifle Association was formed and catapulted shooting as an organized form of sports discipline in the United States.

Shooting sport first made its appearance in the year 1896 and has undergone alterations just like any other event of the Olympics. Shooting is also going to be one of the significant events among the various events in 2008 Beijing Summer Paralympics Sports. • the minimum trigger pull should be 1500 grams
• the trigger pull is to be measured with the help of a barrel in a vertical position
• after the last series, the trigger weight checks are instantly conducted
• at the most three (3) attempts for lifting the weight are allowed
• any shooter whose rifle cannot survive this test will be disqualified immediately.
