Triathlon
The opening ceremony of the 2008 Summer Olympics will take place at the Beijing National Stadium. The ceremony will start at 08:08:08 pm CST (12:08:08 UTC). The official name of the 2008 Summer Olympics is 'Games of the XXIX Olympiad'. This huge event will be held over a period of seventeen days. The events will begin on August 8, 2008 and end on August 24, 2008.
The official logo of the event is titled as 'Dancing Beijing'. Amongst all the sports, Triathlon is one of the most watched ones. The challengers of Triathlon at the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics will be held on the dates, August 18 and August 19. The Triathlon games will take place at the Triathlon Venue at the Ming Tomb Resevoir. The athletic event of Triathlon comprises of swimming, cycling and running over long distances. These three events take place one after the other without any gap between them and in a particular sequence. In the Triathlon Event the competitors need to be equally proficient in swimming, cycling as well as running. The participants also need to be proficient in changing from one event to another very quickly. The various events under Triathlon will include:
