A four-day festival of speed, thrills and glamor- Australian Grand Prix is an official part of the annual Formula One championship season in Australia. A mega event of four days tenure, it comprises a wide range of entertainment including V8 Supercaps, V8 Utes, Qantas Jet Flyover and a BMW Celebrity Challenge. But if you take a peek in the History of Australian Grand Prix, you will find, the country became a part of this adrenalin-surging F1 World Championship only in 1985.

Every year during the early march or so, the leafy avenues of Albert Park in Melbourne get ready to host the event and the dusty, rugged roads ahead charge up to give the world's greatest drivers the toughest challenge of their life. But Australian Grand Prix Info tells that Albert Park started to play the venue from 1993 onwards, before which the Adelaide roads used to feature on the headlines as the notorious street circuit.
